Itinerary

Upon your arrival at the airport, be greeted by our representative waiting outside the terminal. They will escort you to the centrally located hotel in Kathmandu, and assist with the check-in process. After settling in, you can choose to relax at the hotel or visit our Trek Around Himalayas office to gather information about your trip. To cap off your first day, we will treat you to a warm welcome dinner.

Today you will spend the day discovering medieval Kathmandu. Venture into Pashupatinath and visit Nepal’s largest Buddhist stupa, the Boudhanath Stupa. Later afternoon, you will visit the monkey temple and then stroll around the Durbar squares in the evening. Overnight stay at a hotel near Thamel.

Experience the thrill of a blacktopped bike tour from Kathmandu to Kakani, a popular hill station located 29 km northwest of the city. Enjoy breathtaking views of majestic mountains like Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang Lirung, and more while taking in the panoramic view of the Kathmandu valley from an altitude of 2,030 meters. Pedal through lush forests of rhododendrons, oaks, and pines along the mountain slopes, passing by notable sites such as the Thai Airways Memorial Park, a police training college, army posts, and a century-old British Embassy villa. Don't miss the chance to witness the stunning sunrise and sunset views against the backdrop of glittering peaks during your journey to Kakani.

Today, we embark on a 1600m descent over 25km along the old highway with a short stretch on the main road. The 7km journey from Trisuli River to Batar Bazar leads us to our off-road turn-off. After crossing the Trisuli River, we continue riding on the main highway for 11km until we reach our riverside campsite.

Embark on a scenic journey along the Buri Gandaki valley as we follow the river for 4 km. A steep 25-minute hike up a trail awaits before we descend to a winding path along the hillside. Navigate the rough and untamed Jeep track as we make our way to the village of Mailung, situated at an elevation of 1100m. Enjoy breathtaking views of nature along the way.

The Mailung is the midpoint between Kathmandu and Pokhara, yet is rarely visited by tourists, making it the perfect place to take a break. The town of Gorkha holds great historical significance as it is the birthplace of King Prithvi Narayan Shah, who united smaller kingdoms into one. This is also the birthplace of the renowned Gurkhas, still serving in the British Gurkha forces.

Spend the day exploring Gorkha, either by taking a rest or a sightseeing tour of the ancient Gorkha Durbar (palace). Climb 300m above the town for a stunning view of Annapurna and Manaslu, or take a half-day bike ride around the town to admire the breathtaking nature views. Recharge before continuing the journey the next day. Overnight at a hotel.

Today we embark on a 13km biking journey, utilizing both a jeep track and a blacktop road, to reach the Dorandi River, an ideal location for a refreshing lunch and swim. Our journey then leads us to the starting point of the Annapurna trek, where we ride along a cemented road for 10km. We cross the raging Marsyangdi River and continue on our path to Besi Sahar.

After riding 2 km on the main highway, the trail will take us along a ridge, passing by charming villages and woodland areas. Our journey continues as we follow the river on a bumpy jeep trail and arrive at our campsite near Kalasti village. The camp is set up with a stunning view, wrapping up a remarkable day of cycling.

Today, we embark on a thrilling ride across the Sundari Danda ridge, negotiating two small bridges along the way. As we make our way through the picturesque surroundings, we'll encounter friendly locals. In some parts, the rough and demanding terrain will require us to carry our bikes. We'll start on a broad trail, but after descending 350m to the second pass, we'll continue on a rugged single track, passing through terraced fields and irrigation channels, until we reach our camp at Begnas Tal, situated by the lake.

The final day’s ride takes us downhill into the Bijayapur Khola valley.  We traverse the shallow river wading or on stones set into it and finally reach a straight jagged road from where we ride back to Pokhara. After you reach Pokhara you have time to relax and take a rest or explore Pokhara valley.
