Overview
Annapurna Sanctuary Trek leads you through the beautiful villages rich in the unique culture and breathtaking landscapes. After a refreshing tour of UNESCO-listed World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu valley, the trekkers head to Pokhara to start this amazing trek. This 14-day journey starts from Ulleri and leads to the base camp of the world’s 10th tallest mountain, Annapurna I (8091 m). This trekking package has been designed for anyone looking to explore Annapurna Base Camp (4130 m) taking a bit of time. Therefore, the trek is an ideal package for a group of trekkers who enjoy traveling in a relaxed manner. Apart from Annapurna Base Camp, Ghorepani, Poonhill and Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3700 m) are the major highlights of the trek.
The magnificent sights of Annapurna I, Machhapuchhre (popular as “Fishtail”), Dhaulagiri, Hiuchuli, and other beautiful peaks in the Annapurna range from Poon Hill make this trek a true bliss. Further, the heavenly view of the early morning sunrise over the mountains from Poon Hill is another important moment to cherish for a long time. To experience most of the landmarks of this trek in relatively a short period of time, the trekkers can opt for Annapurna Base Camp Trek.
Itinerary
Our representative will pick you up at the international airport and drive you to the hotel. After then you will take a meandering evening walk with your guide through Kathmandu’s heritage sites, and get acquainted with one another over dinner together.
Today you will spend the day discovering medieval Kathmandu. Venture into Pashupatinath and visit Nepal’s largest Buddhist stupa, the Boudhanath Stupa. Later afternoon you will visit the monkey temple and then stroll around the durbar squares in the evening. Overnight stay at a hotel near Thamel.
After having breakfast at your hotel you will take a morning flight to Pokhara at around 8 am. Then you will take a drive to Nayapul and start trekking alongside the Modi river to Tikhedhunga. You will be accompanied by several waterfalls on the way. You will stay overnight in a tea house in Ulleri.
Today you will trek through dense rhododendron forests and old oak woods. You will stay overnight in a beautiful Ghorepani village.
Today early in the morning we will trek up to Poon hill. From here you can get panoramic views of mount Annapurna, Machhapuchhre, and Dhaulagiri. After then we will trek back to Ghorepani and continue to Tadapani. You will trek through sub-tropical forests enjoying mesmerizing views of landscape and mountains. You will stay overnight in Tadapani.
Today you will trek through dense rhododendron forests and cultivated lands accompanied by beautiful waterfalls. After then you will cross a river over a suspension bridge and trek further to get to Chhomrong for staying overnight.
Today you will cross the Chhomrong river and trek through the beautiful forest of Kuldiha. Afterward, you will trek up to the village of Sinuwa where you may stop by for tea and rest. From there you will continue trekking down to the village of Bamboo for staying overnight.
You will continue your trek through dense Bamboo forest until reaching a tea house. From there you can get a dramatic view of the glacial river. After then you will trek up to Hinku cave, where your guide will tell you interesting stories related to this cave. You will then trek down to a river, cross it and get to Deurali village. From this village, you can get astounding views of mount Dhaulagiri and numerous snow-capped peaks. You will stay overnight in Deurali.
Today is the most rewarding day of your trek as you will get to Machapuchare Base Camp and Annapurna Base Camp. You will continue trekking from Deurali through the steep rocky hill and get up to Machapuchare Base camp. From there you can get stunning views of mount Machhapuchhre, Annapurna Massif, Hiunchuli, Gandharva Chuli, and Gangapurna. After then you will trek left through the gorge and get to the hidden base camp of mount Annapurna. Annapurna Base camp is one of the most sought trekker destinations on the planet.
From today you will start trekking back following the same trail. You will pass by Machapuchare base camp and get to Deurali. After then you will trek further through the village of Doban and reach Bamboo for staying overnight.
Today you will continue trekking back to Sinuwa and then trek through the forest of Kuldiha. After then you will reach the village of Chhomrong from where you will start trekking down to the Modi river valley. Along the way, you will be accompanied by beautiful subtropical forests and cultivated lands. Trekking further you will reach Jhinu Danda for staying overnight.
Today you will trek down to Nayapul through the beautiful rhododendron forest and scattered settlements. From Nayapul you will take a bus drive to Pokhara. In Pokhara, you will stroll around the Fewa lake, and enjoy its magnificent beauty. You will stay overnight in Pokhara.
Today you will take an early morning flight to Kathmandu. Your guide will drive you to your hotel. You can spend the day in leisure or stroll out in the city doing amazing activities. At the end of the day, you will have a farewell dinner party from the team of Trek Around Himalayas.
Make the most of your last minutes in Kathmandu with breakfast in a bistro, a city walk, and additional trinket shopping. Your guide will meet you at your inn and drive you to the airport two hours before the scheduled flight.
